I was asked to photograph the performances and behind the scenes of the Pole Candy competition. Pole Candy is an annual competition that first launched in 2009 as an Amateur pole competition in a humble sports bar in Parramatta. In 2011, Pole Candy became Australia’s first ever Semi-Professional pole championship – a launchpad for the future stars of Australian Pole Dance. Winners of PoleCandy Semi-Pro have gone on to tour Nationally and Internationally and compete and perform as Professional Pole Dancers.
